This is a spy photograph, and it is included as one. A camouflaged Fang Cheng Bao Ti 6 was photographed during road testing in China, positioned below the Ti 7, which is that brand’s best-seller at home.
Affected#
Nobody. There is no launch, no market and no specification. It is here because a test mule with a roof lidar is a statement about where BYD is putting sensors, and because the Ti 7 above it sells well enough that a cheaper sibling is a business decision worth watching.
Confirmed#
Only what is visible or measured:
| Ti 6 | Against the Ti 7 | |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 4,805 mm | 194 mm shorter |
| Width | 1,960 mm | 35 mm narrower |
| Height | 1,880 mm | 15 mm higher |
| Wheelbase | 2,810 mm | — |
| Boot | 780 litres | — |
The car wore heavy camouflage, L-shaped daytime running lights and a roof-mounted lidar. It will be sold in China below the Ti 7.
Unconfirmed#
Almost everything, and this is the honest shape of a sighting:
- The powertrain. Nothing is known. The Ti 7 is offered as a 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid with a 115 kW engine and as an electric car with 92 to 105.7 kWh and 300 to 515 kW, and the Ti 6 may share none of that.
- Price and launch date. Neither has been published. “Soon” is the extent of the reporting.
- Any market outside China. Fang Cheng Bao is not sold in Europe or Morocco. Speculation that it could broaden BYD’s global range is the source’s, not BYD’s.
- The dimensions themselves. They come from the report, not from a homologation filing we have read.
