BYD has raised its own overseas sales guidance twice this year and has now raised it again, and attached a charging build-out to it. The numbers reached the public through a Deutsche Bank research note reporting management’s comments on a post-earnings call, not through a BYD announcement.
Affected#
Anyone who charges a BYD in Europe, eventually. Three thousand flash-charging stations is the first European deployment figure BYD has put a date against, and it is the same technology covered in BYD’s flash-charging build-out.
Nothing about it is contractual. A sales target disclosed on an analyst call is a plan, and plans of this size have moved before — this one has moved twice already, upward.
Confirmed#
As reported from management’s comments:
| 2026 overseas guidance | 1.9–2.0 million vehicles |
| Earlier 2026 guidance | 1.3 million in January, 1.5 million in March |
| 2027 target | more than 2.5 million |
| Overseas sales, Jan–Aug 2026 | 1,162,260, up 85.72 % |
| Overseas share of August sales | 43.03 % |
Flash-charging stations planned by March 2027: 3,000 in Europe, 2,000 in the Americas, 1,000 in Asia-Pacific.
Unconfirmed#
- That BYD said any of it. The figures come from analysts reporting a call. BYD has published no statement carrying these numbers, and we have not seen a transcript.
- What a station is. Three thousand stations is not three thousand chargers, and neither term has been defined here. A station may hold several stalls, and the power rating of the European units has not been stated.
- Where in Europe. No country allocation, no operator partner and no first site have been named.
- Whether a BYD car can use them at full power. Flash charging is a vehicle capability as much as a charger one, and no car sold in Europe today has been shown to take it.
