New features#
One-click account switch in the Account Center#
When several accounts are signed in on the head unit, you can switch to another one with the account-switch button — a single tap instead of signing out and in.
Radio icon in the application menu#
A Radio icon has been added to the Application menu, opening the Radio app directly.
TuneIn Radio added to the BYD Store#
Streaming radio arrives as a complement to FM/DAB. Stations are received over the internet, which improves reception in mountainous and remote areas and allows listening across regional borders.
Speed-adjustment mode added to the driver-assistance settings#
The step size for adjusting the ACC set speed is now configurable. Under Settings → ADAS → Driver assistance you can choose between ±1/±5 (short/long press) and ±5/±1. The +/- adjustment when resuming follows the selection.
New “Safety personalisation” switch#
Available on selected models. Under Settings → ADAS → Safety assistance → Safety personalisation, tapping “Personalisation” opens a menu in which individual safety settings can be chosen; they are saved automatically, and at the next start the saved set can be restored by tapping “Personalisation” again.
From the drop-down menu on the central display, a short press on “Safety personalisation” opens the personalisation settings directly; a long press goes to the settings page with the selection menu.
Floating navigation bar on the home screen#
A floating navigation bar has been added to the home screen. Only available in selected countries.
Quick access for deactivating driver monitoring#
Driver monitoring can be deactivated from quick access. Available on selected models.
Optimisations#
Voice assistant and voice prompts#
More natural interaction and clearer voice prompts.
Text notices, user interface and operating experience#
Clearer displays and improved responses for simpler operation.
Surround-view exit logic#
If the panoramic view is activated through the P-R-D gear positions, the speed at which it switches off is raised from above 10 km/h to above 15 km/h.
Seat heating and ventilation in the control panel#
The Control panel gains a row of one-tap controls: seat adjustment, driver seat heating, driver seat ventilation, passenger seat heating and passenger seat ventilation.
Apple CarPlay#
- Straight back to CarPlay: after a disconnection, reconnecting — from the CarPlay icon, the device list or by cable — returns directly to the CarPlay interface.
- Automatic reconnection after an infotainment restart, whether manual or the automatic 24-hour restart.
- Light/dark mode in CarPlay now follows the system setting.
- Voice control: while the BYD voice assistant is active, you can switch to CarPlay and start another interaction without ending the one in progress.
The overview also lists Android Auto as optimised, but the bulletin gives no detail for it.
ICC on wide and narrow lanes#
The lane-width conditions for Intelligent Cruise Control have been adjusted:
- When ICC is inactive, it can only be activated if the lane is between 2.4 m and 5.6 m wide.
- Once active, it is deactivated if the lane is narrower than 2.3 m or wider than 5.8 m.
Deceleration in bends#
The car now reduces speed more gently through bends. Before, deceleration in bends was stronger and could make the drive feel less even.
Arrival state of charge and charge planning in navigation#
Only available in selected countries.
- Expected state of charge on arrival is now shown on the navigation map.
- Charge planning along the route has been optimised to suggest suitable charging stops more efficiently.
Notes#
- “Available on selected models”: speed-adjustment mode, Safety personalisation, driver-monitoring quick access.
- “Only available in selected countries”: floating navigation bar, arrival state of charge and charge planning.
- The bulletin’s Radio-icon slide repeats the heading and text of the account-switch slide; its screenshots show the Radio icon. We have described what the screenshots show.
- The account-switch slide’s screenshots are not reproduced here: they show an account-login QR code and a partly masked e-mail address.
- Several of the bulletin’s other visuals are illustrations rather than head-unit screenshots, and are not reproduced.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.3.0 on a Dolphin.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
