BYD Austria published this bulletin on 14 Sep 2026 for a roll-out in September – October 2026. The release carries multimedia versions 49.1.2.2605092.1 and 49.2.2.2604296.2; the bulletin prints both without saying which applies to which car. Everything below is translated from the German PDF; we have not installed this release on a car.

Overview#

New

  • Three-finger gesture control for temperature and fan speed
  • HUD settings saved via the BYD user account (selected models)
  • Set speed in ICC override mode adjustable with the accelerator pedal
  • Notice when the vehicle ahead pulls away while ACC is not active
  • On/off switch for the driver-assistance (ACC/ICC) alert tones
  • Personalised safety settings for driver assistance

Optimised

  • Driver monitoring in quick access: tap to deactivate, long press opens the settings
  • Speed-setting increments via the steering wheel in driver-assistance mode, now adjustable
  • ICC on particularly wide or narrow lanes
  • Interplay between driver and driver assistance
  • Deceleration behaviour when cornering optimised
  • User-interface displays and text notices

New features#

Three-finger gesture control#

Swipe across the screen with three fingers: up and down sets the temperature, left and right sets the fan speed.

HUD settings saved to the BYD account#

On selected models, the head-up display settings are linked to the vehicle account and saved with it: HUD on/off, height, brightness and angle.

Set speed adjustable in ICC override mode#

While overriding ICC with the accelerator pedal, the set speed can now be adjusted with the pedal.

Lead vehicle start alert#

If driver assistance is not active and the vehicle ahead pulls away while yours stays stationary, a notice appears on the display after a certain time, together with an audible signal. The function has its own switch in the settings.

The new Lead Vehicle Start Alert and Driving Assistance Alert Sound switches.

Driver-assistance alert tones on/off#

A new switch in the settings turns the driver-assistance alert tones on or off, and the last setting is remembered. When on, a tone tells you when an assistance system is restricted or deactivates because of ambient conditions or system limits.

Personalised settings for driver assistance#

Four options are available: All on, All off, Default and Personalised.

  • From quick access: pull the bar down in the middle of the console, tap the “Personalisation settings” switch and confirm the choice in the pop-up. The last choice is saved.
  • Detailed settings: on the centre display under Settings → ADAS → Active safety → Personalisation settings, the individual functions can be configured and saved.

Frequently used functions can then be switched on or off together with one switch, instead of adjusting several functions by hand.

Optimisations#

Driver monitoring in quick access#

Driver monitoring (DMS) can now be switched on or off directly from quick access. A tap toggles it; switching it off asks for confirmation first. The tile shows the status: highlighted when active, greyed out when off.

The DMS tile in quick access, on and off, with the confirmation prompt.

Adjustable speed-control increments#

The step for adjusting speed at the steering wheel can be set in driver-assistance mode: for example short press ±1 km/h and long press ±5 km/h, or the other way round. The setting is under Vehicle → Driver assistance → Driver-assistance mode.

Deceleration in bends#

The on-screen notice for speed reduction in bends is now only shown when no vehicle ahead is detected, and the amount by which “Speed reduction in bends” slows the car has been reduced.

ICC on particularly wide or narrow lanes#

The lane-detection conditions for ICC have been adjusted:

  • When ICC is inactive, it can only be activated if the lane is wider than 2.4 m and narrower than 5.6 m.
  • When ICC is active, it is only deactivated if the lane is narrower than 2.3 m or wider than 5.8 m.

This reduces unnecessary deactivations on wide ramps, at junctions and on narrow sections.

Cooperation between driver and vehicle#

If the driver steers and the car stays within a certain lateral range, ICC’s lane-departure warning is suppressed. The shared-driving range has been extended: as long as the car is no more than 0.5 m from the lane, ICC stays active and keeps sharing the steering, without a warning.

User interface and settings#

  • Ambient lighting: the display and operation of the music-rhythm mode have been improved; the dynamic multi-colour mode is shown more clearly in a tile-and-card layout.
  • Cloud-Chassis Mode: “Active Suspension Mode” has been renamed “Cloud-Chassis Mode” and gains further settings such as “Comfort Control”.

Notes#

  • HUD settings saved to the account: on selected models only.
  • One screenshot in the bulletin, of the Safety Assist settings, appears mirrored and is not reproduced. Several other visuals are illustrations rather than head-unit screenshots.

What we have not verified#

  • This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.3.0 on a Seal.
  • The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
  • Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
