BYD Austria published this bulletin on 28 Sep 2026 for a roll-out in October 2026. The release carries multimedia version 13.1.33.2608180.1.18.3.5.2606100.2, printed as one string. Everything below is translated from the German PDF; we have not installed this release on a car. The same release for the plug-in hybrid is documented under BYD Seal U DM-i V2.3.0.
Overview#
New
- Parking-light switch added (in supported countries only).
- Cloud control added for window ventilation and for switching off the parking lights (in supported countries only).
- ICC/ACC supported in trailer mode when towing a light trailer, and ACC when towing a heavy trailer.
- OTA icon added to the top status bar, shown when a new update is available.
- Switch added for the lead-vehicle start reminder under Driver Assistance.
- Low beam switched on automatically at night or in poor light, with a confirmation pop-up when it is switched off by hand.
Optimised
- Navigation experience optimised (in supported countries only).
- Quick deactivation of the driver monitoring system optimised (selected models).
- Owner’s manual chapter 4, Driver Assistance: notes on using ACC and ICC in trailer mode added.
- Owner’s manual chapter 3, Light switch: description added of the function that keeps all position lights on after the car is switched off.
New features#
Parking-light switch#
A new button sets the parking lights. BYD’s screen places it under Settings → Lighting → Exterior lighting, as a “Parking lights” switch below headlight control and adaptive front lighting. The updated chapter 3 of the owner’s manual describes it as the function that keeps all position lights on after the car is switched off. Available in some countries only.
Cloud control for window ventilation and parking lights#
The BYD app can now open the windows for ventilation and switch off the parking lights remotely. Before the windows open, the app asks for confirmation: “About to activate Window Ajar. Please pay attention to the surroundings.” Available in some countries only.
ICC/ACC in trailer mode#
Intelligent cruise control (ICC) and adaptive cruise control (ACC) can now be used in trailer mode when towing a light trailer; with a heavy trailer, ACC is available. The weight class is chosen under Settings → Vehicle → Driving control → Trailer mode.
OTA icon in the status bar#
An OTA icon appears in the top status bar when a new OTA update is available.
Lead-vehicle start reminder#
A new switch under Settings → ADAS → Driver Assistance. When you are driving manually, the system uses the front millimetre-wave radar and/or the front camera to detect whether the vehicle ahead is moving off. When it does, the driver is told by a message in the instrument cluster and an audible signal, as a reminder to start driving.
Automatic low beam#
The low beam now switches on automatically at night or in poor light. The switch is under Settings → Lighting → General (“Automatic low-beam activation”). Switching the low beam off by hand in the dark brings up a confirmation pop-up with OK and Cancel. As printed in the bulletin, its German text says the low beam “has been deactivated because of the dark surroundings” and then asks whether to switch it off, which reads like a translation slip.
Optimisations#
Navigation#
In some countries only. Three changes:
- Floating navigation window: the next turn and its distance stay visible over other screens.
- Remaining charge: EV models show the remaining battery charge (as a percentage) in the navigation card.
- Charging planning on by default: route planning now adds charging stops automatically when they are needed. It can be turned off with the “Plan charging route” switch in the navigation settings.
Quick deactivation of driver monitoring#
Driver monitoring (DMS) can be switched off from its tile in quick access. A confirmation dialog, “Deactivate driver monitoring system?”, offers Cancel (with a three-second countdown) and OK. Only on selected models, and only on vehicles fitted with DMS.
Owner’s manual#
- Chapter 4, Driver Assistance: notes on using ACC and ICC in trailer mode added.
- Chapter 3, Light switch: description added of the function that keeps all position lights on after the car is switched off.
Notes#
- DAB favourites (fixed): on some Seal U vehicles, saved DAB favourite stations could be lost after the car was restarted. V2.3.0 changes the behaviour so they are kept.
- BYD Austria issued this bulletin and the DM-i one on the same day, from the same deck. The DM-i bulletin has no automatic low beam and no EV navigation items, and adds a reworked energy-consumption display.
- The October 2026 roll-out appears only in the PDF’s text layer; unlike the DM-i bulletin, the title slide shows no date.
- The trailer-mode screen in the bulletin offers “0–99 kg light trailer” and “100–1300 kg heavy trailer”; the V2.2.0 bulletin showed 100–750 kg. The same screen appears in the DM-i bulletin, and BYD does not say which range applies to which model, so treat the figures on that screen as illustrative.
- None of the bulletin’s images are reproduced. Several interface images carry garbled text (a street name reading “Seezeimr ut”) and look like rendered illustrations rather than captures from a car.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.3.0 on a Seal U.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (parking lights, cloud functions, navigation).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
