BYD Austria published this bulletin on 14 Sep 2026 for a roll-out in September – October 2026. The bulletin does not print a multimedia version. Everything below is translated from the German PDF; we have not installed this release on a car.
The PDF itself is titled only “SEAL OTA-Update V2.3.0”. The model year 2023 comes from BYD Austria’s web page for the bulletin, which is also where the same-numbered Seal MY2025 V2.3.0 is listed separately.

New features#
Lead vehicle start alert#
If driver assistance is not active and the vehicle ahead pulls away while yours stays stationary, a notice appears on the display after a certain time, together with an audible signal. The function has its own switch in the settings.
Driver-assistance alert tones on/off#
A new switch in the settings turns the driver-assistance alert tones on or off, and the last setting is remembered. When on, a tone tells you when an assistance system is restricted or deactivates because of ambient conditions or system limits.
Step size for steering-wheel speed adjustment#
Under PAD → Settings → ADAS → Driver assistance you can choose between two modes: long press ±1 km/h with short press ±5 km/h, or long press ±5 km/h with short press ±1 km/h. The “Resume +/-” function follows the chosen setting.
Personalised settings for driver assistance#
Four options are available: All on, All off, Default and Personalised.
- From quick access: pull the bar down in the middle of the console, tap the “Personalisation settings” switch and confirm the choice in the pop-up. The last choice is saved.
- Detailed settings: on the centre display under Settings → ADAS → Active safety → Personalisation settings, the individual functions can be configured and saved.
Frequently used functions can then be switched on or off together with one switch, instead of adjusting several functions by hand.
Child Presence Detection settings remembered#
- The setting is kept: after Child Presence Detection (CPD) is switched off, the system remembers the choice and it stays off at the next start.
- Warning logic: after the car is locked and a living person is detected inside, the time before the first alarm is extended from 10 to 90 seconds, leaving more time to check and reducing false alarms.
- Status notice: at the next start, a brief white notice in the instrument cluster says CPD is deactivated; the warning lamp also flashes briefly and goes out once the car is switched on.
Optimisations#
Deceleration in bends#
The on-screen notice for speed reduction in bends is now only shown when no vehicle ahead is detected, and the amount by which “Speed reduction in bends” slows the car has been reduced.
ICC on particularly wide or narrow lanes#
The lane-detection conditions for ICC have been adjusted:
- When ICC is inactive, it can only be activated if the lane is wider than 2.4 m and narrower than 5.6 m.
- When ICC is active, it is only deactivated if the lane is narrower than 2.3 m or wider than 5.8 m.
This reduces unnecessary deactivations on wide ramps, at junctions and on narrow sections.
Cooperation between driver and vehicle#
If the driver steers and the car stays within a certain lateral range, ICC’s lane-departure warning is suppressed. The shared-driving range has been extended: as long as the car is no more than 0.5 m from the lane, ICC stays active and keeps sharing the steering, without a warning.
Navigation#
Listed as optimised. The bulletin shows two navigation screenshots but gives no description of what changed.
Seat memory#
Seat positions can now be saved when the car is not in Park.
User interface and text notices#
The bulletin lists these fixes:
- The default interface language is Hebrew for Israel and French for Tunisia.
- A custom wallpaper chosen from the local album was not saved.
- DAB did not resume automatically after being interrupted by a Bluetooth call.
- The forced dual-mode symbol was displayed on battery-electric cars (seen on cars with more than 100,000 km).
- Cloud services could not be controlled correctly while the car was connected to Wi-Fi.
Notes#
- No availability qualifiers are printed in this bulletin.
- The interface-language item applies to Israel and Tunisia only.
- Several of the bulletin’s visuals, including the CPD and navigation slides, are illustrations or not clearly head-unit screenshots, and are not reproduced.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.3.0 on a Seal.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
