The Denza N8L has been a plug-in hybrid only. An electric version launches on 14 September with one of the largest packs BYD has put in a passenger car.
Affected#
Nobody’s car, and nobody in Europe yet. This is a Chinese launch of a Chinese-market model.
The pack is the reason to note it: 130.15 kWh of lithium iron phosphate in a six-seat SUV weighing over three tonnes. It is a useful data point on where LFP density has reached, which is the trade described in LFP vs NMC.

Unconfirmed#
- Price. Not announced, and due with the launch on 14 September.
- Charging speed. No peak DC figure has been published. On a pack this size that is the number that decides whether the range is usable on a long drive.
- Europe. Not announced. Denza sells here, so it is not impossible, but nothing has been said.
- The WLTC conversion. 785 km is the report’s arithmetic on a CLTC figure, not a homologated result.
