BYD Austria published this bulletin on 23 Jul 2026 for a roll-out in July – August 2026. Everything below is translated from the German PDF; we have not installed this release on a car.
Overview#
Optimised
- Optimisation of the system interface and text displays
- Optimisation of the usability of the map view
- Optimisation of the operating logic of the driver monitoring system (DMS)
- Optimisation of the text displays when switching on the air conditioning
- Optimisation of the window controls on the central display (PAD)
Optimisations#
Optimisation of the system UI display and text messages#
Volume control via the steering-wheel buttons or the volume knob now shows separate sliders for media and navigation by default; both can also be adjusted manually.
The volume pop-up can be expanded to show all available audio channels.
The display time of the volume pop-up when idle was set to 4 seconds.
An ICC trailer mode indicator was added to the instrument cluster (DiLink).
The UI icons for sunroof and tailgate control were revised.
The greying-out logic for smart driving functions was optimised: when the system receives a deactivation signal, the icon is greyed out immediately.
A “Front Vehicle Start Alert” setting (notice when the vehicle ahead pulls away) was added to the driver assistance settings.
The settings for the trailer mode of the electronic parking brake (EPB) in the “Fahren & Wartung” (Drive & Maintenance) menu were adjusted.
The terms of use were extended to Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania; the privacy statement for Europe and Israel was updated.
Optimisation of the usability of the map view#
The page consists of a heading and a screenshot of the map view; the bulletin gives no textual details of what changed.
Optimisation of the operating logic of the driver monitoring system (DMS)#
Distraction detection now distinguishes between driving-related and non-driving-related activities. During driving-related activities (e.g. looking in the mirrors or at the instrument cluster) no warning is issued; other distracting behaviour still triggers a warning.
The warning issued on detection of moderate fatigue was removed.
Optimisation of the text displays when switching on the air conditioning#
Before OTA: no text overlays for the air conditioning.
After OTA: when “Intelligentes Ein-/Ausschalten” (intelligent on/off) is enabled and the air conditioning is switched on, the instrument cluster shows the message “Bitte treten Sie das Bremspedal und starten Sie das Fahrzeug, bevor Sie die Klimaanlage verwenden” (Please depress the brake pedal and start the vehicle before using A/C).
Optimisation of the window controls on the central display (PAD)#
The user interface was made clearer and more intuitive. It offers more precise touch operation, an improved display, and more stable remote-control, voice-control and one-touch window functions with faster response times and improved compatibility.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V1.3.0 on a Atto 2 DM-i.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
