New features#
One-click account switching function added to the Account Center#
When several accounts are logged in on the head unit, you can switch to another account with the account switch button.
Before OTA the Account Center offered only a “Log Out” button, so changing account meant logging out and logging in again by scanning the QR code with the BYD App. After OTA a “Change” button sits next to “Log Out” and switches account directly.
Radio icon added to the App Center#
Before OTA the Application screen listed DAB+ but had no separate Radio icon. After OTA a Radio icon is shown in the App Center and opens the radio screen with the station list directly.
TuneIn Radio added to the BYD Store#
Launch of streaming radio as a complement to FM/DAB. It enables internet-based transmission and improves reception in mountainous and remote areas as well as listening across regional borders.
Navigation bar controls added for one-click adjustment of seat ventilation and seat heating#
Shortcuts for driver seat heating, front passenger seat heating, driver seat ventilation and front passenger seat ventilation can be added to the navigation bar from the Control tab of the shortcut editor, so they can be adjusted with a single tap.
Speed adjustment mode added to the driver assistance settings#
The ACC speed adjustment step can now be configured. Under Settings → ADAS → Driver Assistance you can choose between “±1/±5” (short press / long press) and “±5/±1”; the +/- adjustment when resuming follows the selection.
New “Safety Personalisation” switch added#
Drivers can open and activate Safety Personalisation from the central screen: Settings → ADAS → Safety Assistance → Safety Personalisation.
Tapping “Personalisation” opens the selection menu in which individual settings can be chosen. These are saved automatically. At the next vehicle start the saved settings can be restored by tapping “Personalisation” again.
Quick operation is possible from the drop-down menu on the central screen: a short press on “Safety Personalisation” opens the personalisation settings directly, a long press leads to the settings page with the selection menu.
Optimisations#
Optimisation of the BYD Assistant experience#
“Feedback” has been added to the settings menu of the voice assistant.
Optimisation of the exit logic of the surround view#
If the panoramic view is activated through the P-R-D gear positions, the switch-off threshold is raised from above 10 km/h to above 15 km/h.
Optimisation of the functionality of Android Auto & Apple CarPlay#
CarPlay reconnection interface — before OTA, after disconnecting from a non-CarPlay screen CarPlay stayed active in the background regardless of the reconnection method. After OTA a wired reconnection can be started from the CarPlay entry, which leads straight to the CarPlay interface.
Reconnection after a head unit restart — before OTA automatic reconnection was not supported and a manual connection was required. After OTA automatic reconnection is supported, both after a restart via a long press of the power button and after the 24-hour restart.
CarPlay interface light/dark mode — before OTA it followed the light switch and was not synchronised with the head unit’s light/dark mode. After OTA it matches the head unit’s light/dark mode.
Activating “Hi BYD” in the CarPlay interface — before OTA CarPlay moved to the background and returned to the foreground once the voice assistant was closed. After OTA CarPlay stays in the foreground and the “Hi BYD” pop-up is shown inside the CarPlay interface.
CarPlay & Android Auto desktop music card — before OTA CarPlay and Android Auto were not integrated into the music card and were not shown when connected. After OTA they are integrated into the music card, are shown when connected and the volume can be adjusted.
Optimisation of the system UI display and text messages#
The background of the system cards (widgets) has been matched to the vehicle design.
System cards (for example Music) now work fully with the music view on the home screen.
There is no longer a boot opening confirmation in the shortcut bar (old platform).
There is no voice announcement when the sound mode is changed; the karaoke pop-up is now called “Karaoke System”.
Optimisation of the usability of Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) on wide and narrow lanes#
The lane width conditions for ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control) have been adjusted. ICC can only be activated when the detected lane width is between 2.4 m and 5.6 m. Once activated, it is deactivated when the lane width falls below 2.3 m or exceeds 5.8 m.
The page illustration adds that the lane width is detected by the camera system and that the actual driving assistance can vary with road conditions; it is labelled “Visualisierung / KI-generiertes Bild” (visualisation / AI-generated image) and states that the depictions are for illustration only and that the actual vehicle display applies.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.2.0 on a Dolphin.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
