New features#
New setting to limit the charging current when AC charging#
After the OTA update the charging power can be controlled through the AC charging current limit setting (A).
The setting sits in the head unit under Energy → Charging and Discharging → AC Charging Current Limit (A), where the screenshot shows the steps 6, 8, 10, 16 and MAX, with 8 A selected.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto play/pause from the steering-wheel buttons#
After the OTA update, music playback (play/pause) in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be controlled both from the display and with the star button on the steering wheel.
The bulletin points at the star button on the left-hand steering-wheel spoke.
Optimisations#
Optimisation of the Child Presence Detection (CPD) system#
Sunblind – auto-close scenario: until now the automatic closing of the sunblind could trigger a CPD alarm if the sunblind was fully open when the vehicle was switched off and locked. After the OTA update the sunblind still closes automatically but no longer triggers a CPD alarm while doing so.
Heavy rain scenario: in heavy rain, locking the vehicle no longer triggers false alarms from the Child Presence Detection (CPD) system.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V1.1.1 on a Seal 6 DM-i Touring.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
