New features#

One-tap account switching added in the Account Center#

When several accounts are logged in on the head unit, you can switch to another account with the account switch button.

Before the OTA the account page offered only “Log Out”; after the OTA a “Change” button sits next to it. Logging in to another account is done by opening the BYD App and scanning the QR code shown on the account login screen; Wi-Fi or cellular data (which may incur charges) is required.

Multilingual support added for the system, navigation and BYD Assistant#

System: Serbian, Slovenian.

BYD Assistant — new languages: Slovak, Czech. Continuous conversation: German, Norwegian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Swedish, Turkish, Italian.

Navigation map: Polish, Hungarian, Finnish.

The illustration on this page is labelled KI-BILD (AI-generated) and is for information purposes only.

Radio icon added in the App Center#

The Application screen gains a separate Radio icon, so the radio can be opened directly from the App Center instead of through another app.

TuneIn Radio added to the BYD Store#

Streaming radio is launched as an addition to FM/DAB. It allows internet-based transmission and improves reception in mountainous and remote areas, as well as listening across regional borders.

TuneIn Radio is now installable from the BYD Store.

Android Auto & Apple CarPlay options added in the desktop media widget#

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can now be selected directly from the media widget on the home screen, without going through the App Center first.

Apple CarPlay now appears as its own tile in the home-screen media widget.

Speed adjustment mode added in the driver-assistance settings#

ACC speed adjustment is now configurable: in Settings → ADAS → Driver Assistance you can choose between “±1/±5” (short press / long press) and “±5/±1”; the +/- adjustment when resuming follows the selection.

New “Safety Personalization” switch added#

Drivers can call up and activate safety personalisation from the central screen: Settings → ADAS → Safety Assistance → Safety Personalization.

Tapping “Personalization” opens the selection menu, in which individual settings can be chosen. These are saved automatically. At the next vehicle start the saved settings can be restored by tapping “Personalization” again.

Quick operation is possible from the drop-down menu on the central screen: a short press on “Safety Personalization” opens the personalisation settings directly, a long press leads to the settings page with the selection menu.

Optimisations#

Surround-view exit logic optimised#

If the panorama view is activated through the P-R-D gear positions, the switch-off threshold is raised from above 10 km/h to above 15 km/h.

The editable Control area of the navigation bar gains one-tap buttons for driver seat heating, front passenger heating, driver seat ventilation and front passenger ventilation, which can be dragged or tapped into the shortcut bar.

System UI presentation and text messages optimised#

The background of the system cards (widgets) has been matched to the vehicle design.

System cards (for example Music) now work fully with the music view on the home screen.

The boot-lid opening confirmation in the shortcut bar has been removed (old platform).

There is no longer a voice announcement when the sound mode is changed; the karaoke pop-up is now called “Karaoke System”.

Maximum speed limit for heavy loads in trailer mode removed#

Settings path: Settings → Vehicle → Driving Control → Trailer Mode.

Light load, 0–99 kg: no speed limit (unchanged).

Heavy load, 100–750 kg: previously limited to 110 km/h, now no speed limit.

The choice between the two modes remains in place for future adjustments.

Where the trailer weight class is chosen — the heavy-load option no longer caps speed.

What we have not verified#

  • This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.2.0 on a Seal U and Seal U DM-i.
  • The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
  • Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
