New features#
Scene mode added#
With a single tap, seats, air conditioning, lighting and audio can be adjusted to different needs.
Nap – for a short break: automatic seat adjustment, air conditioning on, lighting dimmed, windows closed, doors locked, with a timer alarm.
Camping – for time outdoors: all exterior lights off, ambient lighting on, air conditioning on, with a timer alarm.
The prerequisites and available functions can vary by scene mode and are displayed accordingly. The head-unit screenshots show the enabling conditions for Camping mode as gear in P and vehicle battery above 20 %.
BYD Assistant in additional languages added#
Five new voice-control languages have been added: Czech, Finnish, Hungarian, Polish and Slovak. Multilingual translations in the system have also been optimised.
Support for BYD microphones added (3rd-generation SM microphone, grey)#
The system now supports the BYD 3rd-generation SM microphone (grey). The bulletin pairs the microphone with the Stingray Karaoke app on the head unit.
Trailer mode with adjustable trailer weight added#
Setting path: Settings → Vehicle → Driving control → Trailer mode.
Two weight ranges can be selected. Light load, 0–99 kg: no speed limit. Heavy load, 100–750 kg: speed limited to 110 km/h.
The head-unit screen notes that the vehicle adjusts its power strategy and speed limit based on the selected trailer weight, and that the trailer weight must not exceed the vehicle’s maximum permitted towing capacity.
Trailer-light monitoring warning added#
The trailer lighting is monitored in real time and a warning is issued if a fault occurs, to improve driving safety. On the trailer-mode settings screen this appears as an ‘Automatic Indicator Detection’ toggle.
Optimisations#
Radio-signal switching logic optimised to improve the user experience#
Smoother playback. Fewer DAB buffering pauses and dropouts. Automatic switch to internet radio when the signal is weak. Calm Radio added to the App Store.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay function optimised#
Hotspot connection and system notices optimised. Entertainment functions adjusted: full functionality when parked, no video playback while driving. Operation, UI presentation and translations optimised.
Further optimisations#
System interface and text notices optimised. Icons and translations optimised. Window anti-fogging function improved, particularly at low temperatures.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V3.2.0 on a Sealion 7.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
