BYD Austria published this bulletin on 23 Jul 2026 for a roll-out in July – September 2026. The release carries multimedia version 51.1.4.2606030.1. Everything below is translated from the German PDF; we have not installed this release on a car.

Overview#

New

  • TuneIn Radio app added

Optimised

  • Radio function user experience improved
  • Driver-assistance audible alerts optimised
  • System interface and on-screen text optimised

New features#

TuneIn Radio added to the BYD Store#

The TuneIn Radio app is now available in the BYD Store as an additional way to listen to radio. Stations are streamed over the internet, so playback continues even where FM/DAB reception is weak or unavailable.

*ORF regional radio stations are generally available in TuneIn, but availability may change depending on country or licensing terms.

TuneIn's For You tab on the head unit lists Austrian ORF and private stations, with the now-playing bar at the bottom.

Optimisations#

Radio function optimised#

Radio operation has been simplified and made consistent. Switching between stations is now done solely with a short button press; the previous distinction between a short and a long press has been removed.

Station-change behaviour has also been revised, particularly when no station list is available. The steering-wheel button logic has been redefined so that cycling through all stations and cycling through favourite stations are clearly distinguished. Favourite stations can now be selected directly with the steering-wheel buttons.

The default behaviour and the preset (memory) functions of the radio have also been optimised.

The Radio app's Favorites tab; favourite stations can now be selected directly from the steering-wheel buttons.

Driver-assistance audible alerts optimised#

The playback logic for driver-assistance audible alerts (for example on activation, deactivation, failure or function changes of ACC/ICC) has been revised.

Previously, media and audio playback was temporarily muted while a safety alert sounded. Safety alerts are now played simultaneously with media and phone audio, giving a smoother and more natural sound experience.

System interface and on-screen text optimised#

The presentation of the system interface and on-screen text has been revised: various UI icons and notice texts were adjusted and the multilingual translations were improved, for better usability and consistency across system functions.

A new notice now appears on the central display in the following situation: if the headlights are set to “Auto”, the vehicle is in a dark environment and the gear selector is in “P”, a message is shown when the headlights are switched off manually.

The revised home screen layout with the vehicle, media and navigation widgets along the bottom.

The new warning shown when the low beam is switched off manually in a dark environment while in P with the headlights set to Auto.

Notes#

  • ORF regional radio stations are generally available in TuneIn, but availability may change depending on country or licensing terms.

What we have not verified#

  • This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V3.3.0 on a Sealion 7.
  • The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
  • Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
