BYD Austria published this bulletin on 31 Oct 2025 for a roll-out in Q4 2025. Everything below is translated from the German PDF; we have not installed this release on a car.
Overview#
Optimised
- Climate comfort optimised
- One-touch windscreen defrost and demist optimised
- Battery thermal-management strategy at low ambient temperatures optimised
Optimisations#
Climate comfort optimised#
The reference temperature in automatic mode has been changed from 24 °C to 22 °C, to better match everyday comfort needs and allow more precise temperature control.
One-touch windscreen defrost and demist optimised#
The air-distribution logic for defrosting has been optimised and now works more efficiently.
Battery thermal-management strategy at low ambient temperatures optimised#
The battery cooling strategy at low temperatures has been adjusted: the active cooling system now responds at ambient temperatures below 5 °C. This resolves the problem of reduced fast-charging power that could previously arise when the battery warmed up during fast charging in cold conditions.
What we have not verified#
- This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V1.1.1 on a Tang.
- The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
- Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
