New features#

BYD Store added#

A BYD Store has been added, with a wide choice of apps: YouTube, Amazon, Calm Radio and others.

Head-unit BYD Store screen with a search field (“Please enter the App name”), a YouTube promo banner and app tiles for YouTube, Calm Radio, BYD Arcade, Amazon Music, Browser, Manual and Stingray Karaoke, each showing a download size and an Install, Update or Open button. — The store lists the installable head-unit apps with their download sizes.

System interface display and notification messages optimised#

A three-level volume setting for the vehicle prompt tones has been added.

A new display message has been added: “The current charging power is limited by the charging station.”

The notification messages of the driver assistance systems have been optimised.

The new three-level prompt volume sits under Vehicle → Notifications.

Several additional system and voice-control languages added#

System: Romanian and Slovak.

Voice control: Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Polish, Slovak and Swedish.

Improved karaoke experience#

Support for the 3rd-generation SM microphone (grey) has been added.

A karaoke scoring function has been added; it requires the SM microphone.

The prompt tones played when switching into karaoke mode have been optimised.

Stingray Karaoke app on the head unit with a Trending row of song tiles and a Party Mixes row of playlist tiles, and a microphone button on the right edge. — Karaoke runs as the Stingray Karaoke app on the head unit.

Interaction between ICC and LDA improved#

Basic logic: when the system detects that the driver wants to take over, driver and ICC/LDA system share control of the vehicle. The larger the driver’s steering angle, the smaller the steering intervention by ICC and LDA.

Take-over trigger condition. Below approx. 3.0 N·m steering torque: shared vehicle control (driver + ICC/LDA). Above approx. ≥ 3.0 N·m: ICC / LDA are deactivated automatically and the driver takes full control.

Toggle option “Adjust speed with the accelerator pedal” (override mode) added for ACC/ICC#

Setting path: Settings → ADAS → Driving Assist. Default: off; stays on once activated.

Core logic: the driver can adjust the set speed by pressing the accelerator pedal. This allows a quick speed change without using the buttons and improves the convenience of ACC/ICC in suitable driving situations.

Both ≤ 80 km/h — new set speed: the current driving speed. Example: target 60 km/h → accelerate to 75 km/h → release the accelerator → new target 75 km/h.

Both ≤ 80 km/h (printed as such) — no update. Example: target 85 km/h → accelerate to 90 km/h → release the accelerator → target stays 85 km/h.

Target < 80 km/h and speed > 80 km/h — 80 km/h (upper limit). Example: target 60 km/h → accelerate to 85 km/h → release the accelerator → new target 80 km/h.

ADAS → Driving Assist page with cards and toggles for Intelligent Cruise Control, Inside Overtaking Prevention and Adjust Cruise Speed by Accelerator, all switched off. — The override option appears as “Adjust Cruise Speed by Accelerator” and is off by default.

Speed adjustment in curves added for ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control)#

Setting path: Settings → ADAS → Safety Assist → Curve Assist. Default: off; stays on once activated.

Core logic: when ACC/ICC is active and the switch has been turned on, the system reduces speed in advance according to the curvature of the bend, to support safe and comfortable cornering.

Toggle option “Inside overtaking prevention” added for ACC / ICC#

Setting path: Settings → ADAS → Driving Assist → Inside Overtaking Prevention. Default: off; stays on once activated.

Core logic: when ACC/ICC is active, the speed is approx. ≥ 90 km/h and the switch is on, the system actively reduces speed if the vehicle is in the slow lane and a vehicle in the adjacent fast lane is travelling more slowly — so that it does not overtake on the inside.

Head-unit dialog “Inside Overtaking Prevention” explaining that IOP is a driving assistance feature which, when ACC/ICC is active and the vehicle is travelling above 90 km/h (55 mph), prevents the vehicle from overtaking on the inside of another vehicle. — The in-car text gives the same 90 km/h threshold as the slide, with the mph equivalent.

Optimisations#

Radio playback performance and user experience optimised#

Smoother playback.

Fewer DAB buffering events and dropouts.

Automatic switch to internet radio when the signal is weak.

Station search via the steering-wheel buttons optimised. The steering-wheel buttons now change stations only within the favourites list: while a favourite is playing they step to the previous / next favourite; while a non-favourite is playing they jump to the first station in the favourites list.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality optimised#

Hotspot connection and system messages optimised.

Entertainment functions adjusted: full functionality in park mode, no video playback while driving.

Operation, UI presentation and translations optimised.

Apple CarPlay on the head unit: the CarPlay sidebar with Maps, Music, Messages and Settings, a map of Hoofddorp filling the main area, and category shortcuts plus a media widget on the right; the vehicle’s own climate bar runs along the bottom. — CarPlay takes the main display while the vehicle keeps its climate bar underneath.

Further optimisations (service interval and ACC/ICC behaviour)#

Maximum service interval adjusted to 34,000 km.

Stability of the ACC speed display in miles mode optimised.

When ACC is active and the vehicle comes to a standstill with the selector in D, the EPB (AUTO HOLD) is now engaged automatically when ACC is deactivated.

When ACC is active and the vehicle comes to a standstill, automatic pull-away is now limited to 4 seconds (previously 30 seconds) if the navigation switches to an off-road state, that is when the road cannot be identified.

Detection of a complete camera blockage has been added for ACC/ICC: if the speed stays above 30 km/h for more than 2 minutes, a warning message is issued, a fault indicator appears in the instrument cluster and ACC/ICC are deactivated. The functions are available again once the blockage has been removed. The page shows the ICC warning lamp and the ACC warning lamp.

What we have not verified#

This is a translation of BYD Austria’s bulletin, not a test: we have not installed V2.0.0 on a Tang.
The bulletin was published by BYD’s Austrian importer. The release itself is the European one, but roll-out dates are given for Austria, and a few items are country-specific (radio services, interface languages, legal notes).
Availability of individual features can depend on trim, model year and the head-unit hardware.
